MMA Gloves Have No Fingers
Traditional boxing gloves are designed to protect both the wearer and the opponent from harm. The traditional boxing glove is usually a large mitt-like glove that binds the boxer’s hand into a fist. The boxing glove is so tight on the boxer that he has no choice but to throw a perfect punch every time. Boxing gloves are generally padded and lubricated so that they don’t do serious damage to the opponent as he is punched repeatedly in the face and body.
Mixed Martial Arts take a different approach to their gloves. The MMA gloves are designed to be thinner and more flexible than the traditional boxing glove. An MMA fighter needs to be able to open his hands and grab his opponent to perform some of the more complicated grappling techniques. The MMA fighter chooses to cut down some of the protective quality of boxing gloves to get more mobility in his hands and fingers.
